Michael Lavorgna has terminated his self imposed exile by returning to Twittering Machines. Wishing Michael all the best with his site.

He never should have left Audio Stream IMO

"He never should have left Audio Stream IMO. "

Oh yes he should as 26 months from Michael's departure the owners have folded Audiostream. Having the advantage of retrospect there was accordingly no future in it for him.

I just see the whole thing, including the demise of InnerFidelity, as a business failure by AV Tech Media (the owners) in not succeeding to capitalise on two hobby brands by attempting, unsuccessfully, to turn them into lifestyle interest products whilst losing much of their existing audience on the way. My daily click on them under Michael and Tyll turned into one every few months and only if I was short of something to do. One has a feeling that many manufacturers were not even interested in sending review samples ( lots of regurgitated press releases though).

I wish Michael L every success with his return to Twittering Machines. Looks like time for me to revive my bookmark.

Let's hope he's found his Zen (i.e. a way to keep his emotions in check).

From his August 9, 2019 original farewell statement on Twittering Machines:

"Due to personal and professional reasons, Twittering Machines will close its virtual doors next month [footnote 1]. I am, in effect, retiring from hifi."

FYI, it didn't take very long before he reappeared on the Stereophile website, commenting on reviews and other articles.

I no longer read Stereophile or their website.

Also the Twittering site is too difficult to navigate.

I'm glad Michael is back. I'm not certain if audio writing was Michael's full-time gig anyway. I thought he worked for an aerospace parts supplier or something. Anyway, maybe things were getting crazy running his own blog and working full time.

He didn't leave Audio Stream. The new management who owns Stereophile, let him go.
