What is it about 6moons that makes my browsers crash? I suppose it might be the processing power required to decompress Srajan Ebaen's clotted style but seriously my albeit underpowered netbook consistently crashes at that site but at no other. Anyone else experience this?

Your computer probably balks when confronted with pics of Marja and Henk. nt, posted on June 28, 2017 at 09:38:26

installing hidden software to monetize your viewing of his site. Everything there is pay to play, and he is at least upfront about that.

Just a hunch on my part...

What type of browser are you using?, posted on June 28, 2017 at 14:38:53
I've been having trouble with many websites lately. Google Chrome seems to be the answer. It's been smooth sailing, at least for the last week or so. But then I haven't tried 6moon yet.

I'm using Chrome where I get the aw snap screen, but it happens with Firefox as well, but only on my netbook, not on my other computers. I'm sure it's because of the netbook's limited ram and processor, but I'm wondering what is so demanding about 6moon's website.

"..... what is so demanding about 6moon's website."

I would guess too many large files or photos.

I haven't had any problems with the website. However, I don't visit 6Moons very often these days because (1) the products they review rarely interest me, (2) the ads are intrusive, and (3) the explicit "pay to play" philosophy means the reviews have zero credibility. The reviews still have nice photos though if you can wade through all the ads.

Do you ever wipe your cookies?, posted on July 2, 2017 at 11:05:07
If you have never wiped all your cookies.. YOU have millions of them.. plus all the pages you ever looked at (at least until you run out of memory..)

I suggest downloading a free cleaner.
I like Piriform CCleaner the best.

(I suggest when adding it, to NOT add the 'smart cookie' portion. Just unclick the check box)
Anyway, it is a really fine product.
If you have never used a cleaner, it may take an hour to run the first time..
If it freezes. just stop and rerun.
If you have never cleared this sludge.. you may be amazed how much faster your computer will be.

I actually use ccleaner but prompted by your post I had a look at its settings and noticed the registry cleaner which I've never used. I cleaned the registry and then tried 6moons. No crashes! Maybe a fluke but maybe there was some weird interaction between a registry problem and that website. At any rate thanks for the tip.

Yeah, the old registry junk can add up too! nt, posted on July 3, 2017 at 08:04:31

Been that way for a while. Not sure why it hasn't been noticed and remedied by the webmaster.
