?Ideal length for bi-wire?

hello, I was just wondering, at what length of speaker wire do you start to get signal deterioration and it is audible. I just purchased some bi-wire and got a longer length then I asked for > (I got 2 runs at 10feet BUT asked for 2 at 6feet) Should I return them (it will take about a month for new ones to come in) or just not sweat it cuz at that short of length there isn't much signal loss? Also, do speaker cables mellow out over time, mine seem bright uptop? thanxs for your time North
