 I am the new owner of an MIT Shotgun PC, and am trying to upgrade the existing ends to oyaide. The existing IEC connector (to the amp side) looks like it snaps together as there are no screws visible. I could cut it off, but for resale I'd rather take it apart. Any ideas? Thanks much!

 Upgrading the stock AC connectors with Oyaide AC connectors will provide greater resale value, since the stock AC connectors are nothing special. It's possible that the stock IEC connector is a molded connector. If so, you'll need to snip it off and discard it, anyway.

 If I was replacing the ends, I would cut off the current ends so the wire is not just hacked off. I would cut away the plug so I can get to the wire still soldered to the prongs inside. Thus saving as much of the cord as possible, And allowing a good look at the polarity and wire colors to each prong. A hack saw at it parallel to the wire is what I would do.

And agree verifying the correct polarity of BOTH ends is important.

 Thanks! I already had taken a hack saw to it, but it was very difficult to get the solid rubber separated from the wire, so i cut it off at the nub. One concern was whether the drain wire (?) on the iec side was connected to the ground wire. It appeared to be, but I can't be 100% certain, but I did connect it with the ground, as I wanted to duplicate what was there. Thanks much!!

 It's quite possible that the drain wire was connected at the IEC connector end, so you may have made the right choice.

It won't be the first time that the general recommendation of the AC plug only being connected to ground is not correct for a particular power cord design.
