 Hi all, I've been getting more and more into my hi fi set up over the past months and my current set up is as follows ortofon 2m blue>project debut III>u turn pluto pre amp>Yamaha rxv 465 reciever>Dali zensor 3 speakers. I'm looking to streamline my set up and the rega brio 2017 seems to be the answer. My only real question is my current receiver is rated at 105w per channel and I'm pretty sure the rega is 50w. Will I notice a significant power drop in my playback? I know there are more factors to consider but I want to make sure I'm not taking a step backwards in the power department despite the upgrade. I also know my Yamaha I don't believe is rated to power the Dalis based on ohms and I don't want to kill my amp. I'm open to other sub $1000 directions but one thing to keep in mind is I am looking to ditch my current phono stage as I am not that impressed. Thanks!

I doubt that you will notice much difference due to the specified comparative maximum power output of the amps per se. It only amounts to roughly 3dB. The speaker is rated as suitable for amps rated at 25 - 125 watts. The Brio is rated at 50 watts RMS into 8 Ohms but the Dali is nominaly 6 ohms so the amp may deliver a little more. The Yamaha seems not to be specified in terms of either RMS or impedence so I suspect it actually delivers less than 105W into a 6 or 8 ohm impedence and I suspect that it probably actually delivers less than the Brio, otherwise there would be no need for them to be so shy about it.

So in real life the Brio is possibly the more muscular amp.

 A speaker spec worth finding is the sensitivity. That is usually expressed in Db at 1KHz per 1watt of power at 1 meter of distance. If it is lowish at perhaps 85Db you may want a more powerful amp if it is 88-98+ Db you are fine.
Another critical factor though is how much current they draw as measured by how low the speaker's resistance in Ohms get while playing. Some manufacturers will tell you the min ohm, like my Focals it is 3.8 Ohms.

 I did listen to this amplifier. It was paired with a Rega mini-monitor. It was awfully colored. When I switched the speakers to a more "truthful" brand, it sounded awful: veiled mid-range, rolled-off highs in the extreme, no dynamics. What upper bass I could hear was soft and flabby.

 Sounded good driving various Paradigms and the GoldenEar Triton 5s.I think the Rega Brio would be fine with your speakers. Its output is very conservatively rated, Another option for you would be the Marantz PM8005 or (PM8004 used) at 70 watts per channel (also a conservative rating.) It is quite smooth wirh plenty of current and a bit more detail than the Rega, plus a very nice phono stage.
