 Hello, Im new here, so any help is appreciated.

I got into vinyl some years ago and have started upgrading my system. Right now I have Wharfdale 240 tower speakers and my recently purchased Planar 3 (with Elys 2 cart). The weak link is the amp Ive had since college, Pioneer Elite VSX21. Im eventually going to add a CD player.;

Im looking for a stereo integrated amp with minimum 100wpc. I dont think ill ever upgrade my turntable again, i may eventually upgrade my speakers. Im leaning towards something relativity reasonable for my amp as i may want to try out tubes sometime down the line.

So far Ive checked out:

Yamaha S701 at $799 (leaning towards this for cost since i may eventually upgrade)

Peachtree 150 at $1799

NAD 375BEE at $1499

Or something used, like a Musical Fidelity A300 i saw posted on here for about $1150. Would this be a better value that the above?

Or just immediately take the plunge into tubes?

Any input would help, thanks!!!

 I like the look of the Peachtree with the new Planar 3!!

Doesn't have a phono stage, but there is good argument for going outboard phono stage if you want to accomodate an MC cartridge. Don't know how many LPs you have, but the RP3 can go a long ways.

Never heard the stuff, however, but do have an older P3.

 2nd on the Rogue Sphinx, I added one last fall and have been extremely happy with it.

 If you have 1500.00 to spend, I'd go directly to tubes. There are offerings from Rogue, Prima Luna, and Audiospace in your price range on Audiogon right now. And I wouldn't sweat it about the 100 watt requirement. Any decent 50 watt tube amp will drive speakers that a 100 watt SS amp will drive. And usually sound better too.

 Not sure if it's proper to post but I am selling my Rogue Tempest II integrated at 90 wpc. I put a matched quad of EH KT-90 tubes from Rogue in it about 3 years ago and have about 100 hrs on them. It has been sitting in my closet for 8-months mainly since I purchased a Primaluna Dialogue Premium last year. Personally I would go with tubes as Ozzy stated. I've owned many solid state amps but tubes just sound sweeter unless you have very power hungry speakers that require lots of power.

 The Peachtree Nova 150 looks good, I haven't heard one but it has a powerful Class D amp section, a phono stage that will accommodate your Elys cart, and even a built in DAC. I also saw U.S. pricing cheaper than $1799.00 unless there was a recent increase. All the Peachtree I've heard sounded warm to me so it may be to your liking. If your current CD player has digital out, it will plug into the 150 so you can use it's DAC. You could pretty much upgrade everything you wanted to do in one unit.

The Rogue and PrimaLuna are good suggestions as well.

You have a nice turntable rig. Coincidentally a P3 & Elys was what I used for a number of years, it is what I'd say was my first taste of higher end vinyl playback.
