I've had the Nova for about 10 months. I use it with very good ancilaries and it's as good as the rest of the system. Highly reviewed and recommended in TAS. So neutral it may be mistaken for cool or reserved. Not so=it's just neutral and gives what the cartridge sends it without adding anything or subtracting anything. 256 loading options and many gain options up to 60 db. Dead quiet. Reproduces the lowest level details clearly and cleanly so gives more "there" there. Used with a Dynavector 17D 3 cartridge at 60 db gain. Gain and loading easily changed.
Product Weakness: | Big light on the front-red when charged, blinking red when charging and green when operating in battery mode. |
Product Strengths: | Neutral, neutral, neutral. Quiet, clear and astonishingly detailed w/o being "in your face". |

I've always been interested in the battery powered Phenomena.
How long will it run off the batteries before needing a charge?
How long does it take to fully charge once you've depleted the battery?
What loading did you like best with your Dynavector Karat 17D3?
Thanks!
Abe ,
Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Curious how much you've experimented with different load settings, and what you settled on.

I like it. I like it a lot.
I haven't experimented very much. 121 ohms and my current setting of 475 which was recommended by someone whose name I've forgotten at either Musical Surroundings or Music Direct from whom I bought the 17D 3. Thisw sounds so good I haven't felt the need to mess around.
I havent played the thing until the batteries have run out of juice. To tell the truth I cant tell the difference between battery and wall juice. The longest I've used the ttable is about 2.5 hours. It was charged in about 6 hours or less.
It's used with a C-J CT 5 preamp, Marsh A400 amp, Nottingham 294 table and arm with Dunlavy SC IV speakers.
