No thanks..
Would you actually pay $50 for a 50 year old spoken word record that is in vg+/vg+ shape, when you could spend the $$ on lots of good music?
When you live in Cali, why are you in Ebay.ca, from a seller in Portland, OR, or do you know the seller? Just seems strange..

It was obvious to me he posted the link for us to see what he was talking about.
Interesting find marantzguy….spoken word records can be like finding a time capsule.
i have a collection of records of speeches from the late 60’s to middle 70’s related to the black power movement. They are an interesting look at that part of political thought at the time. Some of them are actually quite valuable now.
Hi, tao:
Keep looking for such material related to the Black Power Movement, as such. Some of that will never be transferred, which if the copyrights are now void, you may wish to undertake so the subject matter can be shared with others.
These items are the real "sleepers" out there and, in some cases, were put out in very limited numbers.
Nice to read your reply!

Hi, Rick:
I should have put a disclaimer on the previous note that I am NOT the seller, and have NO connection with them whatsoever.
My copies came from local thrift shops here in Berkeley and I must have paid either 25 cents or a dollar for them.
I agree with you that $50 is insane for such an item!

I guess I should have looked at my post before sending it.. as I didn't mean to "accuse" or anything like that.. Like I said, the US auction shown on the canadian Ebay just seemed odd to me, and especially the price..
I would think that this would be a very intertaining listen...
Have a great evening,
Rick
It's clear that MANY people on ebay have no idea what a record is worth. I've seen common LPs that you find in $ bins at a store for big money on ebay.
My auction philosophy is put it out at a very low starting bid, if it's really worth something, people will bid it up.
Hi, Blues man:
I agree 100% with that philosophy. I do not sell lps on eBay, but intermittently offer some on Audiogon.
In fact, I will be posting some rarities soon on that forum.
Thanks!
