Don't have any experience with the Michell but I'm an extremely happy Scoutmaster owner.
Previously had the Scout then upgraded to the Scoutmaster and found a whopping improvement across the board. Recently came across a used JMW9 Signature and found an even BIGGER improvement! I would go as far as saying that the switch from the JMW9 to the Signature version was the biggest improvement I've ever done to my system. The toe-tapping factor jumped up some serious notches when I switched tonearms and if you are looking for that rock/slam factor then the Signature arm would be the way to go.
One point that I've been meaning to post here in VA: With VPI recommending VTF at 0.1g over the cartridge manufacturer’s maximum, keep a close eye on SRA instead of VTA. I have found with my current setup that having the arm parallel to the record surface and using VPI’s recommended VTF, the SRA has the stylus tip way forward. Only after raising the VTA so the stylus is vertical (SRA at zero, pivot point sitting way up, 0.1g VTF over maximum) did the magic really happen. Took me a while to get used to the arm sitting up at the tail end but proof is in the listening. Just something to keep an eye out when setting up your cartridge.
Have fun!
