My 124 rebuild has come along very well until yesterday when I mistakenly thought I could true the idler wheel myself. This did not turn out so well. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement wheel or have the wheel trued? Thanks.
Follow Ups:
There is a seller on ebay - sq38s - who makes amazing quality replacement idlers for the TD-124. I own 2 and they are higher quality than my original idler. I recommend to get the soft bronze bearings - they're quieter than the standard sintered bronze although you do have to oil them every 6 months instead of once a year.
I just checked and he doesn't seem to have an auction with a TD idler at the moment - you could contact him and see if he has any in stock. He's a great guy, except a little slow on email due to a lot of business travel.
Good luck,
Pete
Thanks Pete. I picked up a wheel from him just now and a set of motor mount extension screws. Thanks for the recommendation. His prices are much better than Octave btw if anyone is looking.
Glad to help!
But there was a hidden price for my help...PICS! Let's have some pics of your work in progress. :-)
Cheers,
Pete
Soon to come. The table is in pieces on my kitchen counter right now; the motor running in after rebuilding it. Attached is a photo of what it should look like when finished. This is from Jonathan's website, www.oswaldsmillaudio.com. The slate deck in in my living room now with a Schick arm on the way. I'll be using a SME 3009 on the board for now. Complete details on the project once it gets closer to completion.
Shweet! I am extremely envious (but in a good way...). :-)
Nothing like hitting one out of the park,
Pete
