Recent spins: Lee Lovett, Sheila Jordan, Jerry Jerome,, The Jazz Brothers, Keith Jarrett, Il Gruppo, Coleman Hawkins, Monk Higgins, Living Jazz and Ernie Henry. All of these Jazz LPs came out of a big collection buy from seven months ago. Il Gruppo is better described as Electronica/Avant Garde. Lucky and Chico in for photos.
Follow Ups:
I had a colleague/friend who was J. Jerome's son (with the same name). -If it's the same person, not a household name, but one of the few sax/clarinet players who played with A. Shaw, Bennie Goodman and Glen Miller's bands. I met him once back in the 80's. I've seen him listed as a sideman, but not as a leader. Cool find! -K.
Yes, definitely the same guy according to liner notes on the back cover.
Is that a Yamaha P-350 ?
It and the P-450 were best sellers at a shop I worked in. Very nice for how little they cost.
On a decent Saturday we'd sell a dozen or more between three salesman.
Dean.
reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
The Yamaha turntable is a P-20 direct drive. It came with other Yamaha components (amp, tuner, cassette deck and speakers along with walnut veneer cabinet with a glass door. One of the better $20 yard sale finds of recent years. So nice looking that my wife has allowed this system in "her" living room. I often play LPs while we eat dinner in the adjoining dining area.
