Wow! What a backhanded compliment! "What the right hand giveth, the left hand taketh away". When you look at the overengineered much heavier tables, it's easy to dismiss Rega. They simply don't look that impressive. But from experience I can tell you they can sound very good. As I've reported here, I've owned the much more expensive Acustic Raven One for several years and ultimately sold it and bought a Rega RP 6 which I upgraded with a Groovetracer Subplatter. I've been so content with it, that I have no plans to upgrade to their more expensive tables. And what do you mean, you've worked on quite a few Rega tables? Did you ever own any?

I have never been that impressed by Rega turntables where I would have bought one. I have listened to some different models but never at length. There was nothing there that drew me in.
I am sure many people do find them excellent, I am not one of them. Maybe it was the cartridges on the Rega tables that turned me off.
I'm sure Rega fans probably feel the same way about the tables I have owned over the years. Its OK. I hope you find the Rega tables that you use produce excellent quality tunes. I will stick with what I have.
