I got a good deal on a Feickert Blackbird with Reed 2A tonearm- arriving soon.
I'm thinking about a power supply upgrade- and Dr. Fuss power supplies are mentioned a lot.
But I can't find where they are sold. Out of business? I saw a 240V used one on eBay DE- but no evidence of a Dr. Fuss site where they are sold. It's like my search engine is broken.
Any thoughts on power supply for Feickert appreciated.
Thanks, Kip....

Do you have reason to believe that the Blackbird PS is inferior in some way to the Dr Fuss supply, whatever that is? Or in other words, why are you thinking of an upgrade?
Lot of claims by owners of significant improvement.

What is a Dr. Fuss power supply? I've never heard of it. Is it designed to control the speed of synchronous motors like the Phoenix Engineering power supplies?
What is the normal power supply for the Feickert Blackbird? It's a pretty expensive turntable so it should come with a good power supply.
Thanks!

Apparently, I'm not the only one that's having trouble finding info.
The Feickert comes with a 24VDC wall wart. Has the appearance of something that costs $19.95. I guess the Dr. Fuss provides a cleaner flatter power. The Lingo power supply I got for my Linn is a significant improvement I believe. Dr. Feickert also makes the "Linear" power supply upgrade for $895 for his TTs.
As I researched Feickert turntables, I saw a lot of mention of Dr. Fuss power supplies. Many of the FOR SALE listings of Feickert TTs include Dr. Fuss power supplies that the sellers bought (I guess I could ask them). I've seen a few threads where a big improvement was claimed.

If you want the best power supply, you should buy a couple of 12-volt sealed lead-acid batteries and connect them in series for 24-volts. Buy a battery charger to keep them charged. Actually, you may be able to use the 24-volt wall-wart to charge the batteries. I think the batteries cost about $19.95 each. Make sure they're at least 7-Ah batteries. If you do this and you don't hear any difference, then a more expensive power supply won't make the slightest bit of difference, either. You can continue to use the 24-volt wall-wart knowing it provides the best possible sound quality.
On the other hand, if you do hear an improvement with the batteries, you can continue to use the batteries or else you can buy a 30-volt variable power supply for less than $100. Check out the link below.
Good luck!

I have a phobia when it comes to switching power supplies.
