...or "My Honesty Bites Me in the Ass."
My friend came and picked up his records today and didn't remember that he had the Abbey Road MFSL! It could have stayed on my shelf, he'd have been none the wiser.
DANG it.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
Follow Ups:
How does the UK pressing of Abbey Road compare to the recent Beatles box set and the MFSL 14 record collection? I have numerous Beatles records...now, I have to check if I have an Abbey Road UK pressing.
hopefully in good nick, I'll post a follow up.
The MFSL, IMO, is better than any US Capitol or Apple pressing I've ever heard.
I have had a UK copy for years but it's totally thrashed, to the point that it skips through entire songs. Ordered a new one from Discogs last week, but it shipping from the UK.

Gotcha. I have 4 Abbey Road LPs. Three are the Apple pressing and one is a Capital pressing, Sigh, not one is 100% flawless from scratches. I mean, who would treat a Beatles Abbey Road LP like that? Going to wash the least scratched one on the Double Matrix Cleaning machine and see how it sounds. Good luck with shipping costs. I ordered a brand new Classic records Crosby Stills Nash Deja Vu 200gram 45RPM from UK and the shipping was crazy high.
Side 1 has one of those radial scratches that starts at the in-groove and angles down through "Come Together," into "Something." Makes the arm skip repeatedly.
Side 2 has massive amounts of groove damage.
I've cleaned it twice with my DIY RCM, but there's no fixing it. Real shame. Still, I can't bear throwing it away.
My friend's older brother was in the Army, stationed in German during the tail end of the Vietnam War. Brought a footlocker full of primo LPs home with him, all German and UK pressing that would bring a fortune now.
Except they were all thrashed. They played them on junk record players, they'd get shitfaced and knock the record player over while they were falling down drunk.

Owned both. Still have the UK Apple. Sold the MFSL.
Opus 33 1/3
Yeah, but you'll sleep better.
I gave him two cartridges to try in his Transcriptors and a Dual 1229Q to use in case the Transcriptors frustrates him.
Put all his LPs in alphabetical order and typed up a list of his MoFis and their average values on Discogs.
IMO, the Dual sounds a lot better than the Kenwood/Transcriptors combo.

It seems like he's a good buddy. And you are too!

I posted pics here years ago showing the damage to the turntable. The RCAs were crumbling with corrosion. I put new RCAs on it, replaced the belt, had it in service here for a while.
Since then his kids have grown up and moved out. The stuff doesn't have to sit in the basement anymore. Time for it all to go home.
