Guess this year is the 100th birthday anniversary of Bird.
I've been spinning a few lately.
It's been a while since I listened to these but they sound better than I remember with a mono cartridge.
This is the latest reissue of Magnifisent Bird. I know it's digital and not an all analogue sound quality but done pretty well.
Follow Ups:
ahead of the times with his early bob jazz recordings.
Many consider this to be Parker's most important/best album.
"The only cats worth anything are the cats who take chances. Sometimes I play things I never heard myself." Thelonious Monk
Sounds great too.
Strange processing.
But I haven't played in on the Rega yet, and everything sounds better on that deck.
This is an excellent set, if you don't already have it:
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
The soundtrack Bird is the only stereo ( and also digital ) Bird and I can hear a lot of processing going on.
I need to get that Savoy Master LP. I know there is a Craft Record 10" reissues but haven't pulled trigger since I reckon it's digital.
What sounds wonderful if Verve 2 LP Reissues from the 70s The Verve Years (1948-50)
'Thought it sounded weird.'
and yet:
'This is an excellent set'
make up my mind ghost ... hit it or forget it?
with regards,
nt
... guess this came up before
have you heard it? is it worth the price of admission?
regards,
The SQ isn't bad, and there's a lot of Parker with Miles Davis. Well worth eight bucks, don't know how much it's going for now.

since 'alaska' answered for you before I thought I'd ask him
thanks for the tip, I've been looking at it
it's recommended by Jazz Times and they're usually spot on so ...
best regards,
I don't have that particular Parker LP.
not that the assistance isn't appreciated but ...
it's like going to a restaurant and the server asks 'how was everything?'
obviously you can't answer because you didn't try everything
wait, it's not like that at all! need another correction over here stat!
with regards,
The Complete Savoy and Dial sessions. But then again, I have fallen out of the fold, having recently sold both of my LP12s, with the modest Naim gear going on the block in the next few weeks. Change of seasons. It's the music that matters.

.
Sounds much cleaner than the all analog LPs I have of Parker, so I wouldn't be surprised if some processing was at play here. Either way, nice sound and terrific music.

Probably digital but there are a lot of tunes I am not familiar with.
So what turntable are you using now?
