I understand that Music Direct is marketing them!
Made in USA (Michigan) hints at some involvement with Shinola, but that's just a WAG on my part.
Any Inmates out there have details? The Music Direct website shows these new 'tables but the details as presented are pretty sparse.
It's nice to see new products on the market, especially when they're not from the usual (Hanpin, etc.) suspects.
Cheers,
SB

Zero connection with Shinola. Shinola has VPI behind them. Mofi has...
I'll be politically correct and say "no comment" on the rest.

See link below from Analog Planet. From there you can click the link to Mobile Fidelity.
In the link.

Many thanks for the links, guys :-)
But I'd like to see something more detailed, and more accurate - a tonearm effective mass of 35g?
C'mon MoFi, I'm sure you can do better than that!!!!!
Cheers,
SB
If you've already Googled the turntables then what you see is what you get. Info that doesn't exist can't be accessed.I'm very curious about the turntables because of the cost and Allen Perkins' involvement but that 35-gram effective mass is troubling.
Edit: I emailed MoFi and they confirmed that 35g is correct.

Jeffery Lee,
I was attempting to find out if any other Inmates knew more about these MoFi tables than is available through Google.
Like Has anybody personally checked one out or do they have a friend who recently purchased one?
If you e-mailed MoFi and they confirmed that the effective tonearm mass is actually 35g, then I want no part of them or their turntable 'cause they obviously have some kind of mis-information posted and are either too lazy or too stupid to verify that the spec is incorrect.
Cheers,
SB
They are reasonably priced and include parts sourced from VPI (again IIRC).
Music Direct owns MoFi so its no surprise that Music Direct lists them first.

....is that the vendors of other turntables they sell are not going to be too happy, particularly if they are aggressive in selling their own turntable to their customers. As a direct manufacturer/seller, they can undercut everyone else on price.
