.... found that on most tracks Rogers voice lost coherence when well into the track, there was also a lot of loudness wars, the simple stuff sounded good, but overall I found the Vinyl Album tedious, production was not very good apart from a few tracks, it's going back to Amazon for a refund.

Mike.
Follow Ups:
It's not quite as musical as some of his back catalog, but a good tune is a good tune.
Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan made very listenable tunes with less than impressive vocals. It mattered not.
sorry but i AM. it is more of the down feeling but war is hell.
Too bad. My sense is that this album grows with listening. Very much an album for these times, not 1973. Water's militant pacifism, atheism, anti-Trumpist sentiments hit a home run with me. Mastering and production quality of the vinyl are top drawer.

To much hassle to return. Anyone know if they are the same or different?

The cd sounds exactly like that! I am not happy with it because the music is quite boring. It sounds too much like The Final Cut. I guess Mr. Waters shouldn't have waited 25 years to put out a new album. IMHO, it's a real stinkeroo.
"Big man, pig man, ha ha charade you are.
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha charade you are."

Amused to Death is another....
.. OK, Amused to Death is not perfect, but in my opinion it's a whole lot better than Is This The Life We Really Want?

There is no reason for me to shoot my mouth off about music I don't know, but that is my wise guy point, sort of.
I don't know the music to discuss it, because I gave up on that guy long ago, I'm more of an early pink floyd guy, and after listening to the guy for a while, it gets a little repetitious and heavy handed to my sensibilities. It seems I don't have the patience for his art.
Thus, I am happy with the new album, because I didn't buy it. I am also happy it bring others joy.
To explain, I have a few duds, from his old band, so I am glad I didn't chance more.
