I must say, having recently purchased the CD reissue: EVERYTHING I've read is true, the experience of hearing this on a good stereo system is like hearing the album for the first time -- it's THAT good!! I have the two previous Sgt. Pepper CD upgrades, and there is simply no comparison .... As many times as I've listened to this album over the years , this reissue brings out nuances in the music I never heard before. That alone would make this reissue a must have , but the improvement in the sound , the phenomenal upgrade, is nothing short of revelatory.. 20 years from now, I'll look back to the day I listened to 50th anniversary release, and wistfully remind myself , It was 20 years ago today..... And I must add, as someone who bought into the revisionist history , of late, that placed Sgt Pepper behind Revolver and Rubber Soul as the Beatles' greatest achievement , well, Sgt Peppers can now rightfully reclaim that No. 1 spot; restored to such a sonic, pristine state of unrivalled musical excellence , this is the long playing album as work of art . Take a listen. You'll be glad Sgt Pepper taught the band to play.....
