I have an ARC SP-8 that I use the same way. The tape out goes to two MC 275 IV's, using the volume controls on the amps with a HO moving coil. I never have the volume controls past 2 o'clock, and I keep the ability to set the L-R balance. (That's why I got MC 275 IV's rather than later versions which don't have the volume controls.) I send the main output to a Mac 1700 receiver for TV, low-quality streaming, FM, etc. I think the SP-8 phono stage is one of the best I have ever heard overall, outside of the insanely priced ones, and better than some of those. Just MHO. It really shines when hearing it without a line stage in the circuit.
