I started getting a pop when spinning records irrespective of whether the cartridge is on or off the record. The pop comes in at 1 minute intervals and does not stop! The Turntable ground wire is connected. Is this static, a magntized cartridge, motor generated? Any idea of how I could go about fixing this. The turntable is a VPI Traveler, cartridge Dynavector 20x2l, Phono Musical Fidelity xlps v3. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

VPI says two drops of 10/40 motor oil would get rid of the pop. Will try it.
Unless you live somewhere where it's unaturally dry, causing static, I would call VPI. If it's happening at a regular interval it sounds like maybe something in the motor.
Thank you. Will do.
