"Graceful"...well uh, it's not bad. I guess it could be uglier -- it'a good thing that it sounds better than it looks. :)There are some carts that sound waaay better than they look, like early Shures. Or any Shure.
Others, like the trim, proportionate Stanton 500, sound worse than they look. Good that the upper level Stanton/Pickerings sound ok, because they're so ungainly looking.

The headshell more so than the cart, but they play off of each other, reminds me of a wasp.

Quick aside -- no idea what Empire used to get that gold gilt, but mine looks really nice polished up. (car detailer here, so I'm a compulsive polisher anyway). I always wished it was the E/II though, so it would have had the blue stylus. The blue/gold combo ought to be distinctive looking. Someday I'll grab a JICO just to find out.
