...it's one of the few LP covers that you've posted over the years that I actually own!
I always liked Frampton's work with Humble Pie better than his poppy Frampton Comes Alive stuff, but he'd have likely faded into obscurity had he stayed with the harder rocking Humble Pie.
I'll never forget the first time hearing this LP. Philly's WMMR had a show where they would play an entire LP for the specific purpose of giving listeners the opportunity to tape. I think it was a Sunday night and I, although loosely familiar with them, found myself glued to the radio. Actually taped most of it. I wish I could remember the name of the WMMR show where they did that. Cassettes ruled then IMHO.
I saw Frampton's Camel when they opened up for Edgar Winter's Frankenstein tour. Great concert. Great times for concerts. Would've enjoyed seeing Humble Pie.
One year I attempted to make mixed tapes for parties but I guess you can imagine how that went. People want to hear what they want to hear.

;^)
I remember MMR tape nights. Great station.
One of my favorite rock bands and, even though Clem Clemson was a good player, I too prefer the Frampton era Pie (he did start the band, wikipedia has it wrong).
Too bad many people now see Frampton as a pop lightweight. He's a great player, unique style and a good song writer.
Steve Marriott, truly one of the all time greats! Jerry Shirley and Greg Ridley, truly one of the greatest rock rhythm sections!
Jerry Shirley's book Best Seat In The House is a great read for fans.
One of my all time favorite rock albums. You can feel the energy.
But looking at the date on the ticket, it was after Frampton had left the band.
Playing DJ is tough. I got lucky once, back around 1978 by making a tape of mostly oldies, and covers of oldies, which everybody seemed to like. One drunk couple came up to me, asking who was doing the old rock 'n roll standards. It took me a couple of minutes to convince them that I really meant it when I said it was John Lennon.
