The reactions were typical of many inmates' views.
Basically it was the Ferrari rap, the don't judge other people's choices rap, the it must be great because it costs so much and I wish I could try it rap, the upper echelon audio deserves/needs the best rap.
I've seen plenty of other posts about absurdly priced hifi stuff, and those posts always spark the same reactions. Basically defending/justifying the price. There is no price for "hi-end" stuff considered so high as to be just plain ludicrous sucker bait.
Follow Ups:
I try to refrain from damning a product just based on its price, but in each product category there IS a price that does seem ridiculous and impossible to justify on any grounds. If you found some wire at $40,000 per meter, that would fill my criteria for ridiculous regardless of merit.
See link and find prices at end of page two. Its Nordost Odin 2.
In my experience, which is now out of date, I found the sound quality of Nordost cables to be inversely related to cost, so these must be awful. (No offense intended to Nordost aficionados. I just did not like them in my system.)
