Hi.Just wondering if someone with either a ProJect RPM 9 or 10 turntable (the one with the separate motor pod that drives the outside of the platter) could do me a favour and measure the height upto the centre of the pulley (where the belt rides at 33rpm) from the platform on which the motor pod is standing? Also, if isn't too much trouble, could you give me the exact diameter of the platter, please?
Looking into using the Project motor and Speed Box SE II on my own turntable and need to know if it will fit.
Finally, if anyone knows, what sort of motor do Project use to drive their turntables via the outside of the platter, and what is the diameter and height of the motor body?
Thanks for your help.

Hi graciouslee.
A distinction needs to be made about the motor height of the Pro-Ject 9.1/9.2 and the 10s. I've owned the RM-10, and it was accidentally originally supplied with the 9.1 motor base (later rectified), which was about 1.25" (I forget what the total height is) compared to the RM-10 base, which is about 2" exactly. The top motor assembly is probably about another 2" for a total of 3.25" and 4", respective total height from where the pulley rides (somewhere in that ballpark).
Sorry I can't be much help otherwise on your other queries. However, I'd call The Needle Doctor in St. Louis Park, MN and ask about this and your other questions. They sell Pro-Ject and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They'll have an answer for you in minutes.
