If it's from the mid 70's or so, it may not be so good. I remember some department stores selling Fisher "All-in-One" units (cassette, turntable, and receiver) that were average at best. My college roommate had one. They came with light floor standing speakers. I believe they had 8" or 10" woofers with small magnets, and cheap paper/cardboard midrange/tweeters.The older Fisher equipment is more respected.

The Fisher turntables I've seen are all Japanese, built by CEC. Those I've seen are all good quality, neither cheap junk or TOTL models.
I have a belt drive DC servo Fisher (no model # on it!) out in my shop and it's a pretty decent unit, with built in strobe, fine-speed adjust and nice tonearm. The cartridge on my Fisher is unmarked, just a "ST-44" sticker near the tonearm rest.
Assuming your Fisher turntable isn't an outright piece of low end junk, it should be a nice one for your friend.
WEll I dont have a camera so that shoots that down.
I have several nice TTs with decent carts but for nothin I thought it would be a nice way to let someone else enjoy LPs again. No cost to me so none to him. It does have the fine tuning knobs on it and stobe too. I know fisher a little. I have several vintage tube pcs. I think my fisher 90 mono is the best tuner I use and I have a lot of tuners. And several fisher tube amps that are very sweet. Thanks for the info much appreciated.
