I have an old Akito (w/ T-kable) on my LP12 with Greenstreet klone subchassis. Have been thinking about upgrading the arm for a long time but am also taking my time doing research. It seems that for an inexpensive arm, the Jelco seems to have some good rep.
However, I have also read that there may be an orientation problem with the cabling. From what I see from the web, it appears that the T-Kable and Jelco's aftermarket L-Din cable have their pins orientated 180deg from each other (i.e. ground pin going away from the cable vs towards). I have no idea how the socket at the bottom of the Jelco is orientated. Some have mentioned that the outcome would be that the cable would ultimately be pointed right, rather than left towards the platter as it should, unless modification is made either to the T-kable or the socket on the arm.
Does anybody have first hand experience with this arm? How is it fitted? Or if needed, how are the mods made?
BTW, has anyone seen a Project 9cc Evolution (not the regular one on the Majik) on an LP12? Is it any good? Is the bearing section too tall for the Linn acrylic cover?
Many thanks.

I have a rb300 on an LP12 and it works quite well. Rega arms do well in the base and if you check the HIFI world measurements, they measure well. Plus you can mod them!
Thanks, but I can't go with anything other than Linn geometry as I have the integrated subchassis and armboard.
I think that the Akito would be a much better performer than the Jelco 250.
I had a Jelco branded Revolver arm on a Standard Revolver and replaced it with a LINN BASIK. I thought the Basik with the revolver was a better combination.
I never tried the Jelco on my LP12. The ITTOK is working very well.
A used ITTOK should be the way to go, if you aren't satisfied with the AKito. From what I heard the newer Akito II's were close to the ITTOKs.

Thanks.
I once came close to getting a used Ittok, but that arm looked a little suspicious and I didn't close the sale. So, I feel that it may be better to buy something new. Maybe the Akito II would be the best value choice.
You would have to wire a din socket in the base but i would go for a Jelco 370H over the 250st.
Thanks.
I don't think they still make the 370H, only the straight and S 250 and the 750. If it requires rewiring the din, it may be too much for me.
