The vinyl was all colored of course. No black vinyl.

they quickly wore out due to poor vinyl and who knows, shallow pressing? my friends all seemed to know this was a bad way to go.

pretty close to my house. The folks were moving back to Taiwan. I asked if they had record albums, not really thinking they did. To my suprise the lady said yes and dragged out a box of lp's. Wouldn't ya know it, from Supertramp to the Cream, every single one was a f'ing bootleg knockoff piece of crap. I told them that they were illegal, carried a heavy fine and should be thrown in the trash asap. The lady got all upset. I just shook my head and left.

Geez... I wonder why.

cracked me up!
I have a German pressed, non tulip DGG of the older Milstein's playing of Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn's violin concertos, with Wiener Philharmoniker and Claudio Abbado. Noisy, despite being cleaned x 3. Might have gotten some mold.
But in the late 70's, we had a family trip to Asia and I bought the same LP on one of those TW records, no clicks, sounds fine. 'Been looking for a good copy, unfortunately, this latest was not it.
I'll bet they sound like they were mastered over the phone.
bootlegs of bootlegs made in mainline China

Wasn't there an Atlas Comics hero called Holy Hawk?
nt.
I would think they would sound crummy? Being illegal knockoffs.
(Taiwan has never agreed to any copyright laws ever...)
