I recently picked up an Audio-Technica AT-1005 tonearm and it is missing the counter weight. I'm hoping that someone that has one could provide me with the weight and dimensions so that I can make a replacement.
Any help greatly appreciated.

HiSadly, it's so many years since I owned an AT-1005 that I can't remember how much the counterweight weighed.
You might be able to get an idea of the dimensions at least by looking at the documents in the Vinyl Engine's Library entry for this arm. Registration (free) is required to download.
The mass of the weight is not critical, in fact, because VTF is applied by the sliding weight on the arm tube. The counterweight just has to be heavy enough to balance out the cartridge and headshell, preferably with the weight as close to the pivots as possible. IIRC, the weight was secured to the rear stub with a nylon-tipped screw, thus avoiding damage to the stub's surface.

Thanks for the input. You make a good point about the mass not being critical. I've collected several pics of the weight and will wing it based on the pics and adjust dimensions for mass.
