The 'restored vintage' system I have in the basement makes fun music. I don't have a decent image of the system but I have shots of bits and pieces...
Marantz 2230 receiver (recapped, ready for another 35 years). $150 + recapping.
Sony PS-T3 semi auto DD table, $12
OR
Thorens TD 150 MK II, *free* before rehab and modifications
Dynaco A25, *free.* I built new cabinets to replace irrepairable original cabinets and added super tweeters but I already had that stuff. I did spend a little money on decent Obbligato capacitors and decent copper binding posts, maybe $50.

That is one cool system, reminds me of my 1060/A25/ARxa/Shure M95 from years ago, sorry now I gave most of it away. That 2230 is gorgeous (so are the A25s and the TT, all I can say is WOW)!
Thanks a bunch! I've had no second thoughts about getting the Marantz recapped (jeez, it's been 3.5 years now), and I love the "two martini" presentation it produces with the A25s. The tuner section sounds very good also, and my kids like using the system without any supervision or worries :)
