Actually, with the more collectable vintage receivers, a rebuild for the average price of $400 + $100 in shipping costs can be added and recovered if you sell it. If you DIY, about $100 in parts and funds for labor is more than recovered. Labor is about 3-4 hours for a rebuild.

... I've dragged my Marantz 2215 around for a few decades and kept her up but it's taken more than 3 or 4 hours that's for sure
lot of trouble for not much wattage but I'm sentimental
and, there comes a point of diminishing returns for time vs. $$
