Hey Charles, I would think humidity would be more of an issue.Living on the coast (high humidity part of the year) gives me problems with my woodworking tools. So all my electronics,LP's etc stay in the house. That being said our temps rarely get over 80F. Thanks again for the copy of your Sherwood S5000 owners manual you copied for me. I hope your Sherwood isn't in the garage :)

No the Sherwood is my main summer system. It's playing right now!!! I'm still amazed at how good that little thing is!!!
As of now, and likely to remain so, the Sherwood S5000 is the BEST vintage tubed integrated amp.

It's very nice circuitry and the "iron" is good .
Sherwood squeezed every last drop out of PP 7189s. Don't put EL84s in a S5000, as they will fail in very short order. The only practical O/P tube for S5000s is the Russian 6П14П-EB (6p14p-ev), AKA EL84M.
