I have a Yamaha Cr 620 Receiver that with in the last several months has developed a problem in the FM band as it seems to struggle to pick up FM stations as strong as it use to!In fact it is picking up less stations then before!Seems like I have more noise or multi path showing up on the FM tuning meter, then I recall in the past!I am using a set of Rabbit ears made by GE that have always worked well for this Receiver!AM band is about the same maybe slightly worse at pulling in stations compared to when I first got it! I am the 2nd owner & it has never been repaired.I opened it up & cleaned all the switches several years ago,but that is all!Everything else works fine!Any ideals what to look for?Bad diode, caps etc.?Wheres a good place in WI.to have this fixed,if I can not do it myself with some help from here? Thanks!
Follow Ups:
Have you installed any new WiFi devices near the tuner recently? I ask, because my Roku TV device interferes badly with my powered DTV antenna depending on the station I am trying to pickup.
When I want to watch those channels, I turn off my Roku device to get better reception.
Wall wart power supplies can also screw up FM tuner sensitivity as they emit so much RF
Great tip! Thanks!
Thanks for the tip as I do have a ROKU several feet from it! Never thought of that! Will unplug that & see if things improve!
Brian did turning off the device work?
It did help some, but something still seems not right!Going to try plugging it in a single outlet then the Power Strip I am using with it now!
