Well, on the last leg of the return trip due to circumstances beyond my control it consisted of the last two legs. Meaning 25hrs and 1500 miles in the saddle. I collapsed into my wife's arms and slept for 14hrs when I got home.

I might have forgotten to mention I was 51yrs old, had previously broken my back (crushed two vertibrae, herniated a disc, and compressed two other discs) less than three months prior, and the best part, and most likely the only reason I was dumb enough to do this alone, I only had four days riding experience when I started the ride.
What an idiot
Oh ya, I left on April 1st, that's right, very appropriately April fools day and I was definitely "the fool".

And I thought I was nuts! It was my second year of riding (which, given where I lived at the time meant that I had about a total of 5 months experience because of long winters) that I decided to take a trip.
I got on my new Harley and rode it across state, and directly through the New York City expressway system during rush hour. Total chaos, and not something I'd recommend for any rider, much less with one with as little experience as I had.
Somehow I lived...And learned.
