those are original or at least early, 20 ohm 604 Duplexes with true multicell treble horns -- which your 604Es, and mine, lack. And they include original (or at least early) Altec XOs, for better or worse.
From a collectiblity/mojo standpoint, they've got it all over a pair of "E"s.
all the best,

I wonder what the sonic differences are tho? I think ours may be more accurate sounding.

Mikey,
I found one of those about 6-7 years ago at a local thrift shop.
I saw an unmistakable 1950's speaker cabinet so of course I was curious.
Lucky for me the cabinet builder wasn't a pro and they used a heavy cardboard bottom to the cabinet so I was able to peel it up enough in one corner to peak inside.
I almost fell over when I saw the Hollywood 604 for $3.00.
Got it home and listened then knew why they have a following.
Not very bold mids like with an 806 or 802 with a big horn but they where there sounding adequate and non offensive and the highs were on the sweet end of the scale like with an Altec 3000 tweeter.
Bass was so,so but with the lousy cabinet sealing I didn't expect much more. But even sealed properly I wouldn't expect bass like from a Model 19 with a vented 416B.
I wanted to keep it and get another but finances back then dictated that I sell it and it went for $811 on that auction site.
Not long after I saw that the buyer mated it with one he probably already had and the pair sold for something over $2000.
I never heard a newer 604 but that old one sure was nice.
In the well made vintage cabinet -- would be awesome! Prolly need a good powered subwoofer for these, correct?
Stick them in a Karlson Koupler and no sub needed.
Jerry
