A couple of times I needed to replace a belt (cassette or CD, not tt) I was fortunate they were round rather than flat. A well-stocked hardware store with a big selection of O-rings provided matching sizes. Very inexpensive too.

I have used an O-ring from a hardware store to fix a Mission CD Player trey. It worked great and cost almost nothing.
