I know a CD player is not vintage but on a chance what is the sony CDP 311 sound like is it a decent player or not. I listen to 99 % LPs but was wondering if this CD player has a decent sound.
Thanks and I know this is not vintage I am using tube amps.

SONY's lower end CD players are "OK"! Since this model is no longer available it would probably be considered vintage! How much are you going to pay for it? Does it come with a remote & still function properly? I personally prefer their lower ES line. I found a SONY C8ESD Cd changer in a thrift shop a couple years back for like $10 or so (don't remember) that sounds better than my newer CA70ES! But the C8ESD does'nt allow 'play exchange' when playing! Bottom line, if you already have a CD player (unless it's a cheap portable) the SONY CDP 311 won't sound any better!
HiFi Engine has the service manual if you'd care to see it. As far as whether it's a good one or not... My old ears are no longer "golden", so I just worry about it working or not.
Thanks guys for the info.
It has a remote its in NM condition I didnt pay anything for it its in my basement now. I just wondered if beings I listen to 99 % LPs should it do the trick for a CD I may listen to once every few months. I use all tube audio because I fell in love with the sound many years ago not a snob just hits my ears so smooth I cant go back to SS.
Thanks again, I suppose its a matter of taste and you guys have a lot of experience more then me so thought I would ask.
You didn't mention it was free. That is my favorite price! I am sure it will work fine for you intended purpose. The newer players, even the inexpensive ones all sound decent. OK, I haven't heard them all, but everyone I have heard seems to be free of the obvious flaws that they had when I was in the business.
