I'll go first. I'd like my MC225 back. In original condition, of course!
Jerry
Follow Ups:
I'll get it back someday. It was stolen out of storage during a move. Same bastard took my baseball card collection (that had a Mantle rookie card), a stamp collection started by the Town's blacksmith in the mid 19th century, and a small lock box filled with two-dollar bills and silver dollars. Insurance was useless and statute of limitations is long gone but someday I will get my pound of flesh or I'll pour agent orange on their grave. I guess I'm not over it. I sure miss that turntable (as well as that baseball card). At least they left my Empire table alone.

The final three:
Pioneer RT-707 Real to Real. Just a pretty (and pretty good sounding) device.
Kenwood KA7300 Integrated Amplifier Rack mounted below the above - the big silky volume control was to die for and the presence control saw a lot of use with various recordings - I miss that a lot
My Shahinian Obelisk Loudspeakers - querky looking threw a great sound stage - like you were there. The Kenwood went for $100 bucks to a friend - I needed car repair money - don't have the car anymore either (Mazda RX-2) but wouldn't mind having it back, either!
The RT-707 went with Obelisks, a Hafler DH101 preamp and a Dynaco Stereo 410 power amp for Wedding ring money... Still have the bride.
Three most important things in Audio reproduction: Keep the noise levels low, the power high and the room diffuse.

It was dual-mono, mosfet and was a sweet sounding amp. It was also buit like a tank. I gave it to my nephew when I got a VSP Trans Mosfet amp, he later gave it to a frend to repair, who took off with it. Oh well!

I'd be kicking myself too!

My wife hated that Yamaha because it had way to many buttons, knobs, etc for her to figure out,so it had to GO and something much SIMPLER needed to take its place, which eventually did happen1
Cat got to the surrounds on the woofers and lower mids when I had them in the garage getting ready for a move and I keep thinking it's time to find a facility to refoam them and freshen things.
They have cool oil caps in the crossovers - they look great on the inside, just those pesky cones.
Marantz 8B. I still cannot believe I let it go no matter how much I made on it.
If it was as new for stylus wear and suspension, my ADC XLM II cartridge from the '70s.
If it was to flank my flat screen TV, my original stacked Advents from the '70s.
If I had the proper subwoofer set up to flush out the low end, the M-L CLS I owned in the '80s.
If it worked more than a month before failing to the point where my dealer couldn't repair it, the Maplenoll Athena air-bearing platter and arm turntable from the '80s.
If matched with speakers of the appropriate impedance load, the Atma-Sphere MA-1 OTL amps I owned in the '80s. Oh yes, adequate cooling would be nice too.
If they weren't so large and heavy, the Duntech Princess speakers I owned for 19 years.
And if pigs had wings . . .
"For a nominal service fee,

...which I sold (needing a recap, probably-- I said it needed work in the ad, it was hissing a bit) for 175.00 as a BIN on evilBay. It lasted all of 15 minutes before somebody pounced. Didn't do my research. If I hadn't paid only twenty bucks for the thing in the first place, I'd be really upset. I try to tell myself that I was paying my good fortune forward, but I wish I'd gotten paid a bit more for doing so.

Two come to mind -- the Heathkit Williamson-type WM-3 amp my Grandpa built (sold because I only had one, should have located another); and my Kyocera A-710 integrated amp (only if I could have it back in working condition). Other than that, I'm happy with what I have. For now.

Sometime in January 2011, some bonehead tenant trashed and mutilated the drivers of my LA (bullhead cabinets) which were located in the storage room. Sigh. I managed to salvage the grills with the original badges. I was planning to retro-fit new surrounds.
Naim NAIT 2. Sold it on eBay for more than I paid for it...
My Superscope R1220 receiver that I threw away because it quit working.
i still "have" almost everything i've acquired over years of collecting. i do, however regret trading my stax sra12s for a luxman L480 around 1995. still using the luxman (drives jr149's), but i sure miss that stax with the stax cans - it was a damn good preamp, too

This was the finest TT setup I've ever owned. Unfortnuately, it was stolen along with a McIntosh MX-110 when my house was broken into back in the 70s.
I've never assembled the same setup. I do have an MX-110, though, so I'm on the way.
Oh, the memories.....
Cheers,
David
AM/FM multiplex; two dial champaign face. Came in a console w/ a 299c, Miracord 10, and JBL LE14C's
Didn't have it long, bought the console for WAF and I quickly sold the Scott's to recoup my investment; was already using a Scott 355, didn't need the tuner.
Now that I am moving to a better preamp, I wish I had that 333. Didn't make that many, they're tough to find.
Three things:
Quad ESL 57's with Arcici stands
Atma-Sphere M60's I built with parts from Ralph, before the kits proper, including 6C33 adaptor sockets
Tannoy Stirling TW's
These days I prefer to keep things I still like, but don't buy too much major new stuff anyway.
David
Almost all of it better than almost any mass-market crap (and some "hi-end" crap) you can buy today.
My Sansui AU-717 amp that the good-for-nothing-piece-of-crap-low-life apartment neighbor stole many years ago.Ok, that wasn't fun. How about this: My first tape recorder - a Roberts (Akai) 1719. 7" reels, 3-3/4 and 7-1/2 ips, quarter track. The salesperson that I bought it from tried to sell me a Magnavox. Ha!

I went through a period a few years back where I wondered how older equipment would sound today. So, with the magic of ebay, I was able to re-acquire some of the equipment I owned in the past: H/K 430, ads 710, Kef 104ab (my favorite), Luxman 1050 and smaller advent. Still looking for a Yamaha intergrated amp, not sure of the model number. I must admit, I still love the sound of these units, although I prefer the Merlin VSMs I currently use in my main system to all the vintage gear. I do listen to both and enjoyed re-acqiuring the vintage gear.So...with all that the Kef 104 ab, which I now have:) or maybe the kef reference that I don't have:)

we were the first importers - laurie fincham himself flew over with my custom 104's in afromosia teak to match my linn lp12 - soon after they sent 104ab xovers, and, end of story, i still have them and they are still fabulous - gracing my brother's family room with my old yamaha pf800 and electrocompaniet separates

HK Citation five amp with Jim's mods wonderful amp foolish that I let it go. I was on a 6V6 EL84 rampage at the time.
Edits: 05/05/12
Ouch.... The V is totally under rated. With Jim's supply ugrade and good caps it is 54 watts/ch of sonic bliss. Coupled with the fact that there are good 6L6 variants still being made..... Maybe you'll find another some day...
While this IS an asylum, some total lack of lucidity must have possessed you. Letting a Cit. 2 or Cit. 5 go, especially after refurbishment ala McShane, is truly insane.

all the best,

;^)
Didn't use it nearly enough to justify keeping it, and still would like to have it back...
I bought a lightly modded unit from an AK forum member.Really enjoyed it but the audio output died.I thought the best course was to send it to him for repair since he modded it to begin with.
Well,he received it and asked if I would send the schematic soon after.I instead gave him a link to a site that had that.I haven't heard from him since.
No replies to my emails at all. Now,if he did sell it at a hefty profit, someone out there has a SONY tuner, forced analog switch, freq. mods without the original box and remote(I forgot to send him the remote).
I just loved to look at it, although it was a bit noisier than what replaced it. And the controls had such a tactile feel.

Back in the mid-70s I had both a 4RC and a Mk5. I sold them both a long time ago but still wonder how they might sound today.
Integrated amp. Mint, of course. I had one with JBL L-100s and a Dual 1229 with Stanton 681EE cart. One of the best.

I really don't need it cause I use passive preamps now. But If I had kept the Scott I would have had a nice active preamp with a great phono section too!
Have fun

My magnaplaner timpini 3's they were a bear to set up but once you got it right they were wonderfull!
Foolishly sold in an apparent upgrade effort.
That's interesting Kal...I purchased an AE208 rebuild a couple of years ago and it replaced a Scout/Blackbird combo. I've got a 103R on it w/ a Bob's Devices SUT and 309 arm. Could it be your old one? Puchased it on Audiogon and the guy I purchased it from said he was the second owner and that the first owner had 2... Anyway it's really allowed me to enjoy my entire record collection of 8,000+ NOT just the hot audiophile or current releases. I'm just starting to play around w/ 103 versions and I'm considering a Soundsmith or Zu version/rebuild. It really is a great table.
All the best...Chris
Mine looks quite different from the original. It has a multilaminate (aluminum/plexiglass/lead with internal damping) plinth with the motor repositioned at the rear left. It also has a removable arm baseplate. Do you have those things?

My old Sansui Quad.
Original set-up in 1974 and pic from the net for clarity.
Sansui Quad
You can still get them.
it ain't gonna replace the one I lost. BTW, Ralph, need a spare motor?
Kal
I suppose it was obvious but our machine is not a copy so much as its an update. We can always use spares though :)
I missed mine so much I eventually bought another one (dedicated to 78 rpms at the moment).
Pair of speakers I foolishly gave to my teen daughter years ago when I paired them with a Mac MA6100 and MR77 for her first real stereo system. They're up in her room, 30' away from me right now, but a few months away from leaving with her to go to college. Excellent imaging and just a great, lush sound on vocals and guitar when paired with a Dyna ST70. But she'll never give them up and I don't expect her to. Sigh.

“Change is the constant, the signal for rebirth, the egg of the phoenix”
Let me 2nd that. I had a pair of 810s that I sold to buy a pair of Olm Fs. Big mistake. Less than a year later, I sold the Olms and bought the a/d/s 1230s (1983) which I still have. The driver compliment is the same, the difference is in the cabinets, with the 1230s being much bigger for deeper bass. The overall sound is the same - clear and smooth. The 810s would do well as a second system in a smaller room.
If I had 1230's, I wouldn't miss the 810's much!
Dave
Actually I cannot think of one item. Cars? That's a different story.
with Sonus Blue cartridge.
IIRC, it was sold as Vestigal.
but I've gotten grief over calling it that. Interestingly, here's a Transcriptor's ad which clearly says "Vestigal" :)
That would go with my Hydraulic Reference.

Agruh! It got trashed during an earthquake in the early 90's, tonearm wasn't secured.
.
I would like to try one of those with my C2x! I really like the preamp to the point where I stopped loking for anything else. You can have my C2x when you pry it from my cold dead fingers!
Dave
A bunch of amps roll through here for repair or restoration so I get to listen to many. I still own the ones I like the most (Citation I/II/V and a another custom built octal preamp), I still have my old TD125 with the SME arm and the V15....but the one thing I let go that I regret was a pair of AR3a speakers I restored. A friend had gotten them for basically nothing with bad woofer surrounds. He likes refoaming woofers and has gotten quite good at it so he did them. I got them for the cost of his surround kit...I think I paid him $30. I promptly rebuilt the crossovers with nice caps and resistors and discovered one tweeter was shot. So I sourced a pair of replacement tweeters from some guy on ebay who had worked out a Chinese silk dome that worked perfectly with those crossovers and dropped right in there. I think I paid about $200-$225 for the speakers, all the crossover parts, and the pair of new tweeters. Put those tweets in and hooked them up to the Citation II. Dropped the needle on a record and WOW. I have other speakers that are better, but I kept those AR3a speakers for a couple of years and would haul them out every month or two and listen. I even had a pair of those nice Target half height stands for them that were just right. I really understood why that speaker had such a following. I passed them on to a buddy at cost. He needed good speakers and is still enjoying them daily. I miss them though....despite their flaws they had this smooth sound with enough detail to be interesting....and wonderful imaging. It was AR's take on imaging, but it was delightful. Sigh....

Fisher X-100
I won it in a McIntosh spiff program. I sold Mc like it was going out of style for the duration of the program and got an MC-2155 for FREE.
Free is a good price.
I kept it for the summer and ran my ADS L-1230s with it. It was wonderful.
Got into a cash bind and since it was the most readily sale-able thing I owned, out it went.
I want another one. I'd even pay more than last time.

I'd like to have back an ARC SP-6b that I owned for thirty minutes and never heard.

Beveled wood grained beauty, with alnico Super 70 pups. Stolen whilst at work; eventually replaced by Ibanez Les Paul Custom copy. Would cost a lot more than two bills nowadays, due to Bob Weir association. 73s from Sactown!!!
