I enjoy a nice refreshing pitcher of extra dry martinis and also orange flavored vodka from the freezer.
While servicing gear I would suggest a light beer as the Martinis seem to make you too conductive or something.
Lets cheer up this Monday.
All the best!

Also known as a Margarita. Patron is expensive, but it's the smoothest tequila I have found. It's well worth the price.
Shake the above ingredients with lots of ice and a high quality Margarita mix (ex. Williams and Sonoma) and you will have one of the best tasting Margaritas. Authentic too.

Using Margarita mix with Patron like plugging a Macintosh in to a set of Bose speakers...
Only "Margarita mix" you need is fresh squeezed lime juice and Grand Mariner.
"Using Margarita mix with Patron like plugging a Macintosh in to a set of Bose speakers... Only "Margarita mix" you need is fresh squeezed lime juice and Grand Mariner."While I can appreciate your "purest" approach, let me explain. The mix I use is very high quality. The main ingredients are water, Key limes and sugar. No chemicals or other junk.
Without the mix, the Margarita is not sweet enough. I could just add sugar, but the mix works really well. If you use just the right amount of mix (not too much), you can still appreciate the differences of different brands of tequila. Also, without the mix, I find the Margarita to be too strong (too much alcohol).
As for Cointreau vs. Grand Marnier, I'll take Cointreau every time. Over the last few years, I experimented with many different Margarita recipes. Many times, I would make two drinks, one with Cointreau and the other with Grand Marnier. We preferred the drink made with Cointreau every time.
BTW, even the official Grand Marnier Margarita recipe calls for "sugar to taste". Use the link below. Select YES, then select "Treat Yourself".

P.S. Lemons work just as well as limes (especially if you use the lime mix) and you can get a lot more juice out of them.
Have you tried Don Eduardo Silver tequila in your Margarita or just straight up?
Less expensive than Patron but just as good or better IMHO with a very clean and smooth signature. There are several Don Eduardo's to choose from if you want a different but equally exquisite tequila experience ;-)
Cheers

Just one problem - it's even more expensive than Patron! At least at my local liquor store it is. It's a few dollars more per bottle. I have thought of trying it a few times, but balked at the price. Now that I have your recommendation, I will give it a try. Thanks!

Some folks merely huff it, but they're really cheating themselves.

50/50 mix of Rose's lime juice and a quality gin. If you've ever read 'The Long Goodbye' you'll know what I mean.
A boiler maker: straight Macallan Cask Strength Scotch followed by a Smithwicks, a Hofbrau, a Tennants, or a Weihenstephaner. Repeat several times.
Quite simply, the best for late night recording...

That must be from the same brewery that made Buckhorn... Nasty stuff!
ROFLMAO...Goat scrotum ale..Oh well..That kind of reminds me of a story where these two guys move into this farm house to rent and there is a cow out back..Anyway the next day the one guy gets up early and makes breakfast for both of them and he says to the other guy, man I love this country air and I slept so good and I even had gone out and milked the cow and got me the best glass of milk I ever got in my life. Its so nice, rich and creamy with a sweet taste..
His buddy says Jake,I'm sorry to disappoint you but we have a bull..Its the neighbors that have the milk cows.
Actually it is from a recipe out of the New Complete Joy of Home Brewing. I brewed it several times and it came out a bit different each time but still delicious.
The recipe is at the link.

Dr. Strangelove (or Doktor Merkwuerdigliebe, if you prefer).
Watched it last weekend with our son & his girlfriend. One of my very favorite movies of all, made by one of my very favorite directors.
Who knew George C Scott could do comedy?

The pop of the tab makes for a really good room pulse to test for flutter too.
Back in the day, they used balloons and had a card board jig to measure just how big to blow them up. Then POP with a pin to make an impulse signal.

Liquor makes me a criminal, so I try to avoid it. I do enjoy a bourbon and Coke ever now and then.
Some folks would consider mixing good bourbon with Coke to BE criminal. ;-)

I find it's better sober. Couple of my favorites send me off to a better place than booze, and I don't get a hangover.
I will make my final choice about 5 minutes prior to my sitting down to listen.
I do not have 1 favorite, it depends on my mood, the music I am planing on play and what time it is when I sit down.
I have 4 "usual" options, in no order:
1. Sherry
2. Red or white wine
3. Port
4. Cognac or Germany brandy
There you go...........
music has the power to make you happy
Before sundown, a good Munich-style lager (helles or marzen).
After sundown, a good bourbon, neat.

that the St Pauli district of Hamburg is the redlight district and was home to the Beatles when they were in Hamburg.
Either Glenlivet or Glenmorangie...favorite drink to audition audio things with, by far :)
Or maybe some Guinness or Stella Artois after I bought some albums and I'm feeling broke :D
Hi.
I stacked up a few Scotch & Cognac bottles, a couple back over 20 years, all being collection of goodwill from my friends. Thanks but no thanks to a friend who just bring me a Black Label last Easter Friday.
I may give them a rare glance from time to time as I don't like liquors.
Yet I love sweet red wine, so soooothing so smooooth.

PS: Sorry, I just can't stand the taste of burnt barley.
My experiences with wine haven't been all that great, maybe I'm just not drinking good enough stuff yet as I end up with a four-day hangover. Scotch will get me soused, but at least I'm feeling better by the following evening :D
Hi.
... if you know the tweak, IMO.
I am not going to drop a grand for a bottle as I can't afford it, being so cheap.
The problem with most diner red wines, being cheap & new, is they will taste sterile & lack real fruit fragrance. I hate any sterile tasting wines.
To turn the cruel money-speaks reality around, I tried my smart way to sorta kinda get around it like what I am doing with my DIY projects.
Get those pale red wine (brewed with the grape skins removed) with higher level sugar content (level 2-3 if you have no problem with your kidneys).
Serve the bottles chilled as contrary to deep red wines (conventionally brewed with skinned grapes) which got to be served at room temp, no chilling required.
I get them from the Wine Cellars at Wal-Mart. Cheapie cheapie.....
But if you get "hang-overs" with red wines, then don't worry about it.
c-J
If you are a real cheapskate like me but still want to live the good life, try some Austrailian and French box wines. You get 3 liters and some of them are quite good! Thy also stay fresh for months.
