I saw a later version of that 999 model at a local St. Vincent De Paul thrift store a few weeks back. The version I saw had this crazy looking ring around the cone midrange that looked like some ninja star or some medieval (sp?) fighting instrument. Hooked them up to an old Sherwood SS receiver (7200 I think) there in the store and those speakers kicked butt. If I didn't already have two pair of the KL-777 4-way speakers I would have bought them too. As it is, the 777's are serious house party with outstanding bass.
Not really, look pretty crapy to me. Prob. soud real bad.
