He goes to astonishing lengths to renew his stuff, i.e. he disassembles the piece into it's component parts, cleans and defluxes, makes repairs, and scopes the results. Wouldn't we all like to have the talent to do that!

Tak about a labor of love! I have a 1060 and am inspiered. That is a good trick to drill the sealed switches. I have been trying to figure out what to do on my old Adcom GFP-1A preamp that suffered from a dity switches. I thougth I would have to replace them!
