Tom Cruise is a fan of SR, isn't he? I just wonder if there is a connection with a certain cult... excuse me, religion.
I don't know, for myself, I try to ignore the hype--it's like buying a car or a boat or whatever, sure you can measure it, but the bottom line is (for me, not for the science based before hearing others) how does it sound!
All hype aside, try a Synergistic Orange fuse, no measurements, just use your ears. Decision based on hearing not measuring.
I use Synergistic products, and for me they work, but so do High Fidelity Cables products. The problem is that, just like housing sales, the market will bear the price, as long as the consumer will buy it at that price. So don't blame the seller, blame the buyer for hyper inflated prices. Look at the real estate market right now! High end audio is a luxury item--so is wine! I buy $6 bottles of wine, but when it comes to craft beer, I will spend $17 for a four pack! It's all relative (to your pocket book).
This is the most ridiculous hyperbole I've seen yet, and I use the cheaper High Fidelity products and they work! But Ric Schultz may have gone too far on this one, and only $599 for a little tiny bottle!
His ad copy has every element of the original story packed into it.
When did the original "k" in "Rick" go out of fashion? Not that there's anything wrong with "Ric".
The High Fidelity guy spells his name Rick. There is a Ric Schultz in audio......and that is me. When I want parts from Parts Connexion i have to make sure they get it to me and not him.....yes, they sent parts that I paid for to him once.I dropped the K in High School.....I thought it was more cool....he he. My Formal name is Eric....E---ric. Ricky Nelson was an Eric. Most people think I am a Rich or Richard.
I once talked to Rick Schultz for over an hour.....Ric Schultz to Rick Schultz. Fun conversation about his cables and tweaking and his life and spirituality.
Magnets do alter the sound. Some like the effects.

I too changed my name to Ric from Rick (not Eric) many years ago. Partly because my name is Ricardo, just seemed different. Of course I usually say "my name is Ric, but most people think I'm a dick!" Can't tell you how many times I have told people my name (Ric) and they call me Eric, oh well, better than being called Retardo.:)
'Magnets do alter the sound'
indeed, except for my piezo tweeters my speakers won't work without them!
very thin sounding without magnets ... no measurements though
purely subjective
Not interested to read opinions from sources with a bent out of shape attitude towards cabling.
I avoid anything posted by Audioholics with a naysayer agenda at every opportunity.
LALALALAlalalala....I'm not hearing you
It sucks to get old. It really sucks to get old and bitter.

I still won't believe the large fraction of SR claims that make no sense, because they defy laws of physics. Note, I am not doubting every claim made for every SR product. Just some claims for some of their products.
If you don't believe it, you won't hear it.

AFAIK, Ted Denney is not an engineer or scientist, which means he is not hampered by the fact there is not much wiggle-room in 'designing' a cable from an electrical standpoint (i.e. resistance is set by the wire gauge, capacitance and inductance basically trade-off depending how close the conductors are so you can minimize one at the expense of the other). Gene is an engineer so he is constrained by his knowledge of what is possible electrically and so is less inclined to hear differences, or even bother to listen. Is Denney a savant, alchemist or someone who wanted to make money in audio and picked the highest margin segment? The challenge is interesting. I cannot imagine that Synergistic cables are going to measure better than what Gene uses for his reference. And Ted could simply ship one to him for measurement. Maybe he is hoping Gene will hear his reference system and have a damascene conversion!

For my part, I have no criticism of the cables or power cords that I would base on "science". I am sure they do what they are supposed to do when in use. If you like them, you like them. What irks me are some of the other products that rely upon untenable explanations for their value. And of course, SR is not the only company in that "field" of endeavor. At least they do offer the 30-day money-back guarantee.
I'm not a fan of SR. There is an example of a SR product design that claims to be transformative in nature, but in my estimation the result simply cannot be due to any treatment, no matter how advanced it may be. A tweak, otherwise known as a treatment tends to improve performance in a subtle or notably impressive manner, but to claim to build a pretty purse out of a sow's ear is taking things a bit too far, with claims based on potentially overwhelming, self-serving pride in one's own proprietary design concepts. I've never been drawn to any product that is marketed with too much hyperbolic text, rather being more attracted to products that sell themselves through word of mouth reports.
De La Salla needs to take up the challenge!
FWIW, I wouldn't call any system using MacIntosh amps SOTA - very good
maybe, but not SOTA.

My money's on Ted.
