Does it work? :)

iFi USB iPurifier works well as Duster says but the iFi AC iPurifier simply flattens the sound to my ear and I returned the one that I bought on approval. The names may be similar but the outcomes are disappointingly different.
Yes.........., it works. I've gone through the usual suspects from the likes of Audioprism QuietLines | PS Audio Noise Harvesters | Isotek NeoPlug & IsoPlug | NordOst QV1, and was told by Eric Teh from the Eric's Blogspot in HK to try these.
As per the added reassurance, I ended up with three of them, two placed onto unused wall sockets on either side of the system, and found the third most effective if placed directly behind the DAC socket on my Chang LightSpeed Power Conditioner......., and went one further in building 2 ground cables for it, with both Duelund | Neotech bulk wires connected to a banana plug on its end, with a spade lugs, or RCA connector, on the other placed onto one of the unused binding post, of RCA input on the rear of my integrated amp.
As per a recommendation from our own beloved Mick Wolfe, I also use 3 of the Add'Powr Electraclear's around my listening space as well | couldn't be more content with the added ( pun intended ) sense of stillness | silence between | around notes, as each became more integrated as well as spooky real sound wise, to my way of thinking, ones system, nor power feeding our systems can never be quiet enough......., one never realizes just how noisy it is, until it isn't there. It's cost effective enough to where I believe many should try them before knocking them, and saying " snake oil ", or just being a naysayer simply because one can't explain how said devices work......, but work they do.
End user reports I've read say the product is very effective. I have an iFi USB noise filter that makes a big impact on the sound. Perhaps even the proverbial blacker background. However, after I began using an external USB 5V injection linear power supply for my primary headphone rig, the effect seemed a bit too severe, maybe a bit too sterile sounding for my taste. It took some of the life out of the presentation, and made it sound too lean like a bit 'too much of a good thing'. I like the effect on the DAC for use with a tube hybrid headphone amplifier where the filter really suits the purpose. The iFi AC iPurifier is out of the direct path of AC delivery to the power cords, so it functions as a shunt filter like the PS Audio Noise Harvester, but my guess is the iFi AC iPurifier is substantially more effective. Seems certainly worthy of a try with right of return, KanedaK.

I and others have found that some AC filter devices hurt sound quality. No way to tell without listening and maybe someone out there can comment on how this sounds. For sure, I and many others find that capacitors across the ac improve sound. X type safety capacitors are designed for across the ac use, are pulse tested and are self healing.
