As for the Mapleshade mods, not a lot of detailed information on what " voodoo" they do is available, LOL, I did call them when I was considering going with them and they were rather secretive about what they exactly do, other than to offer a 30 day reversible cash back offer. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable can speak to this issue. The unit when I got it back sounds subjectively wonderful and pulled in stations I was never able to before.

Geez I must be a tuner dinasaur, hooked on local classical station. What I have done so far to 310e, recapped/increased power supply capacitance, bypassed relays, replaced coupling caps with Russian PIO's, replaced 12AU7 with E80CC, replaced detector diodes, aligned with Sencore. Will redo alignment with ST1000A when I get through calibrating it and then tempted to upgrade the IF caps.
Always nice to keep a stock unit, start making changed and lose perspective of how it sounded stock.
