if a tube blows, is there a chance it could damage the amplifier?
i have six pacs and just want to know if the fuse will protect the amp.
is there a meter that i can use to periodically check the tubes?

What's a six pac?

Buy Chinese. Bury freedom.
To the OP, tubes don't usually blow, they just get weak and noisy. But if they do go they can cause problems. But unlike transistor amps, failure is generally not catastrophic. A blown cathode resistor, a blown fuse. Most of it is easily fixable.Yes, you must bias the amp. Not having the amp correctly biased can lead to tube failure or sound that is not optimal. Bias can be monitored with any multi meter provided you can make up a test cord with a phone jack. Otherwise bias meters can be purchased on the internet. Google Quicksilver bias meter. The specifics of how to bias the amp are in the manual at the link below.

Preamp tubes that short rarely cause damage. Power tubes that short can cause damage to the amplifier.
