Follow Ups:
Here's what is going on... I've posted some of this on my website but nobody seems to have seen it - so I'm posting part of an email that I recently sent to a customer who asked how I was doing. It's probably more info than is needed and some of it is kind of personal, but here it is:
I have been completely overwhelmed, utterly deluged with orders and inquiries (sometimes upwards of 70 per day that require my attention) since the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown/restrictions.
Couple that with the fact that everything I have to do now gets done at a snail's pace and with much more difficulty. Orders for my tube and parts stock that used to take a couple days now can take weeks, and lots of stuff is on backorder. Shipping is SO slow that I quite often have to spend significant time researching and explaining that for customers. New tube stock coming in yields far more "rejects" than ever before - likely because the Saratov tube plant was closed for a while and is now working through personnel issues due to Covid-19 in their workforce; so they are in a tough spot too I'm sure. In turn, that means I have to not only try to make arrangements to return the problem tubes to the distributor, I also end up having to test about 125 tubes to get 100 good ones. There is a queue of 100s and 100s of tubes here that need to be tested - along with a backlog of about 10 amp rebuild kits, some of which take hours to assemble and pack.
And there's more - like the foot of snow we got here over last weekend that made it impossible to leave the house. And like the ENDLESS computer difficulties (especially with Outlook 2020, my email software!) that have been occurring since I had to replace my old machine in November. All this stuff takes time to work through.
Couple that to my chronic medical issues (VERY high blood pressure, diabetes, spinal stenosis, and a few more) that mean I can only work about ½ a day. I have an exercise program I have to do every day to keep my blood sugar and blood pressure down - it takes all morning to do. I take 5 different meds for the high blood pressure and some of the side effects are brutal. I HAVE to take the time to eat my meals - no more skipping lunch because I'm busy. If I do, my blood sugar goes too low because I'm on 3 meds for diabetes - and low blood sugar is dangerous. On my next birthday I'll be 70 years old, so I just can't work like I used to. I used to work 60-70 hours per week to keep up. Now with probably triple the workload I'm trying to keep up working about 25 hours per week.
I hope all that helps explain why I'm not able to respond as fast as I used to.
But I'm here, and I plan to be for years to come. My chronic health issues aren't going to go away, but they aren't getting any worse - which is a plus. I still do my very best to provide quality products - no quality corners have been or ever will be cut! And I'll do my best to help people who need help. I just can't do it all as fast as I used to.
Thanks to all who have been concerned about me - I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
Now, back to work!!
It's OK to put your health first Jim. If it takes more time to get a product I'm good with that.
Hi Jim ,
I sent you an email today . I hope it gets to you , it's w/ regards to the KT120's . Maybe you did not receive the first 2 emails I sent 4 days ago .
Best regard & stay safe ,
Mondial
I received your note - but I'm more than 4 days behind on some stuff so I'll get back to you as quick as I can.
Thank you Jim
Jim, your health is the most important thing, everything else is secondary.
Take care.
Best of health to you Jim.
Health and well being are top priority of "Tube problems" that aren't tube problems.
Cheers!

Best wishes from a completely satisfied customer.
Wish I could be there to lend a hand.
Without music what is there?
Take care of your health first, Jim. The hobby definitely needs you around.
Fortunately for me, my Citation 1 and 2 are fully rebuilt, and I have a backup set of Gold Lion KT-88s for the power amp. But when I do need something, I'll go to you.

When it rains, it pours....
Godspeed Jim. Busy is good, sometimes. Sounds like there is no shortage of work, but personal health is much more important - but the bills need to be paid etc. Hope things will 'normalize' soon.
Thanks always for great service. Take care.
You wrote - "When it rains, it pours...."
SO true. Yesterday we lost power for almost the entire morning which just added to the fun. My whole day was shot as a result.
On recent orders it did take Jim a few days to reply.
I do wish him the best. He's a great guy with a lot of patience to deal with us tube nuts!
Who is Jim McShane again, I know the name!
McShane Design. Can be found under "Sponsoring Organizations" at the home page here. All the info you need will be there.
I never had anything but the best of experiences dealing with Jim. He's a real asset to this community and I share your good wishes for him.
