I picked up this quad of 6550 tubes in a lot recently that are labeled by Antique Sound Lab for one of their amps. I thought they might be Shuguang, but they do not have metal bases. Are these another version by Shuguang? Or, does anyone know where ASL sourced their tubes?
Thanks,
Steve M.

These are Chinese made tubes. Groove Tubes sold them as their 6500C line for awhile. I had a couple of quads. Never tried them and peddled them off.
Thanks, guys! I agree that the top mica support looks Chinese. I looked around at some other Chinese manufacturers, like Valve Art and Sino, but could not find a match. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

At one time there were quite a few Chinese tube manufacturers. Most of their tubes never left Asia unless they were re-brands like these, much like they now do with electronics. These manufacturers would make anything you wanted for a price. So good luck figuring out who made them.
Later ASL tubes (once Divergent took over) were made by Shuguang, and have metal bases.
FYI - Valve Art are made by Shuguang to Valve Art's specifications. Usually very rugged tubes.

They are Chinese, but they are not Shuhguang. At the time these were made, there were quite a few tube manufacturers in China. I can't remember the company, but they no longer exist.
Later ASL tubes were made by Shuguang.

Tre' might be right but the mica support piece at the top looks Chinese. Don't know why they don't have the metal shroud on the base.

I don't know why but they look Russian to me.
