Forgive me for asking, but was your strike-price with Galen the same as he has on his site?
I have a friend who's interested in putting together a modest, high-bang for the buck system, and I was hoping makes this exact recco to him along with what is a current market price.
If you're not comfortable answering, is okay to say no.
Thx

Thanks, Opus.
I've had an FX10 in my office for about five years and it averages probably four or five hours a day of play time. It does seem to be very easy on tubes. Most of the time I'm running Russian military 6P14P-EB tubes, an EL84 equivalent, and I've never had a failure. It's one of the least expensive pieces of gear I've owned and one of the most satisfying.
(If the glowing LEDs under the tubes bother you just take off the base plate and clip the lead to each LED.)
