You get what you pay for. I wouldn't count on it being chock-full of high grade parts. Tube rolling could get real expensive with that design.
On the other hand, it is a handsome bit of work cosmetically, it's inexpensive, and it uses my favorite output tube.
All in all, I believe I'd pass on it.
Follow Ups:
Quicksilver makes an EL-84 push-pull integrated using 4 per channel. Of course, it goes for $2K.
Then there's this one for quite a bit less . . .

Tubes4HiFi now offers an EL84 based amp. My friend has one on the way. Supposedly based somewhat on an Audio Note circuit. That said, I don't see it mentioned on their website, so may require an email inquiry.

That's the one. Thank you sir.
There's always the Jolida FX10 too. It's limited to two single-ended inputs plus a third input that's a stereo mini-plug on the front. I think a brand new one from a dealer lists for ~$700. They were a much better bargain back when they listed for $550 though.

You sure? Jolida still has them on their product page. You may be right. I checked Music Direct and a couple of others and they no got them.
Galen Carol Audio may have them. He has them on his page @ $595, but no mention of availability.
Part of the problem finding them may be that they've changed their name from Jolida to Black Ice Audio. Search on Black Ice Audio FX-10.

Got a couple of Audible Illusions modulus 3 preamps from him. Good guy.

Indeed he is. One of the good ones.
If he's out of stock, Wally Underwood is also a dealer, and I found another place called Audiophile Zone that said they had 2, but their price was $700.
directly from Jolida.

I know of a certain frame-grid 12AX7 that works really well in the front end of that amp too.
I've got two FX10s that I bought years back. One as the heart of a modest music system at my lovely brides' fortress of solitude in Central Illinois, and a second one on my TV rig here at home-base. Using fg 12AX7 and Polam EL84s on the TV rig, and JJ 5751s and some former Soviet military surplus EL84 equivalents from Reflektor.
It's hard to say which has the better sound, but because of the fg 12AX7s I lean toward the TV rig. Those little amps also respond very well to fuses and power cords.
Also have two sets of outputs coming, JJs and EHs.

of normal use and the small signal tubes for 10 years. In other words, the tubes will likely outlive me.

Forgive me for asking, but was your strike-price with Galen the same as he has on his site?
I have a friend who's interested in putting together a modest, high-bang for the buck system, and I was hoping makes this exact recco to him along with what is a current market price.
If you're not comfortable answering, is okay to say no.
Thx
$595.00. $632.50 including shipping to Virginia.

Thanks, Opus.
I've had an FX10 in my office for about five years and it averages probably four or five hours a day of play time. It does seem to be very easy on tubes. Most of the time I'm running Russian military 6P14P-EB tubes, an EL84 equivalent, and I've never had a failure. It's one of the least expensive pieces of gear I've owned and one of the most satisfying.
(If the glowing LEDs under the tubes bother you just take off the base plate and clip the lead to each LED.)

I ordered my first Modulus 3 from Galen at that time. He was very helpful. My second one was ordered 10 years later. I caught a factory refurb for $1,100.
