The seller does say GE branded Amperex. Printing looks authentic to the era. Of course Sylvania had their Gold tubes, some had gold pins. And while Amperex had many gold-plated pin tubes for hi grade military spec (I've handled/tested dozens), that gold plating does look suspicious.

Yes, i mentioned that he says GE in one small part of the ad. We all know that Amperex used gold pins on many of it SQ tubes but no one has run across any 5687 Amperex. And really why would they since they marketed a tube that was even better the 7119 which was also made at the same time in the usa as well. My MFA M75 PP 6550 amps uses the 5687 as the driver tube. 'when i bought that amp 25 years ago, i started collecting every 5687 type, tung sol, ge, rca, sylvania, 7044 type, 7119, and 6900. I NEVER ran across an Amperex gp 5687. None of the members here have mentioned seeing one of those as well. I for one am very dubious, i think others are too.
You're right. The really odd tubes are his RCA and Raytheon "gold pin" tubes. Haha.Make an electro-plating bath 1/4" deep? set tubes in and plate w/ gold-ish plating? Like Radio Shack did with almost every "Lifetime" tube they sold in the 70s?
