Jim, I built the Poindexter amp. Then, I improved it. I sent the info to Eric Kingsbury. He raised the audio transformer primary impedance per my recommendations, but did not follow up with the other mods.
My modified 6V6 triode connected outperformed his amp- no contest. His amp as mentioned in the 6 Moons review had a somewhat unclear presentation. I agree, it did. But, still sounded ok. Unfortunately, his amp likely could not distinguish much difference in 6V6GT tubes. My modified amp way outperformed his amp & I heard all the details clearly. I went to Sylvania CHS 7C5 as the plate is same as Sylvania 6V6G that were the best sounding tubes, but horribly expensive.
So, I hope I cleared up any misunderstanding here.

AKA, VT-107B. These are most awesome tubes. A certain Princeton Reverb I worked on, has a nice matching pair.

I love the Coke bottle tubes in 6L6g and 6V6g types. What do you run for a hifi amp?

Rebiased to around 12-13 watts per tube, idle dissipation. Last amp was an original AB763 circuit blackface Twin Reverb. The coke bottles made for a much nicer midrange, than the OEM 6L6GC.
They certainly, don't make them like that anymore!
I am sure those are quite expensive, but other vintage 6v6 tubes are very cheap. Metal 6v6 are at give away prices.
Yes, the Sylvania 6V6G are awesome.
